BNI & Independent Hotel Show: breakfast & talks

– Paul Linse (Studio Linse, o.a.

“Great design should be an immersive journey—where space, emotion, and experience culminate to form a memorable story.”
Sontaya Bluangtook (UN Studio)

“Hotel and restaurant interiors should act as sanctuaries—spaces where guests can escape the noise, disconnect from the outside world, and experience true relaxation.”
Paul Linse (Studio Linse)

Why phone-free spaces are the future

Keynote by Ilya Kneppelhout – The Offline Club

We’re on the brink of a significant societal counter-movement. As our lives become increasingly intertwined with screens and algorithms, so too grows the desire to unplug, slow down, and engage with people and spaces in a more intentional way. The future will hold a striking contrast between high-tech optimization and a return to a more human-centric way of living—and this shift is already unfolding.

Join Ilya Kneppelhout, co-founder of the viral ‘Offline Club,’ at this BNI Breakfast. Gain insightsinto the rising demand for phone-free spaces and unplugged experiences in today’s ever-connected world. Be at the forefront of this shift by designing environments that don’t just accommodate, but actively shape the way people seek presence, connection, and meaning.

The invisible force – Good acoustics

Pascal van Dort – Rockfon

In an era where noise is omnipresent, the hospitality industry is increasingly recognising the value of silence in creating serene environments for guests. Architects and interior designers often struggle with the complexities of room acoustics, knowing that the delicate balance of sound can make or break a space. By embracing sensory design, Pascal will explore the science of sound, noise and acoustics, revealing their significant impact on well-being and user experience. Learn how thoughtful acoustic design can foster better social interactions and enhance relaxation, transforming silence into the ultimate luxury.

Pascal van Dort works as Global Acoustics Ambassador at Rockfon, where he helps interior designers, architects and building owners understand the impact of sound, noise and acoustics on health and well-being. With over 25 years of rich experience and a solid educational background in Building Acoustics, Pascal has developed profound expertise in room acoustics and interior acoustic design. His ability to convey the technical complexity of acoustics clearly, and his passion for the subject make him a valuable source of knowledge and inspiration for professionals both within and outside the acoustic community.
